I can’t be injured, my goal half marathon is in 6 days. I will be spending the next few days on my couch with lots of ice. I think I bruised my heel, not really sure what happened but I woke up Saturday morning in A LOT of pain, and couldn’t walk. Of course I didn’t stay off of if the last two days and it still hurts.
*So I started this post yesterday but never finished. My heel is feeling a little better today. I am hoping to do some shake out miles on Thursday and Friday. I also think I need to readjust my goals for this race. I don’t want to hurt myself worse, so I do not think I am going to attempt a PR. I guess I will see how I feel on Sunday. My legs will be rested because I am doing way more tappering than I ever planned.
I have been working my tail off, but I know at this point there isn’t a lot I can do. I am trying to just relax and be okay with what happens. I know this isn’t the end goal for me. This half marathon is just a step towards my ultimate goal of running a marathon. I just want to be a good fast runner. I know it is silly to care so much but I just can’t seem to let it go. So if you enjoy watching pity parties come on over.

It has been so long since I last posted I have so much to share. Ali at RWS sent me this headband that I LOVE. I actually forgot it was coming so I was super surprised when it came last week. I am amazed at how much the blogging community means to me, and the support I feel overwhelms me.

I have had some awesome runs lately, my miles are up and my times are down. My long runs have moved into the high 10 and low 11 range. Pretty good from the 12 minute range I was at a month ago.
I am FINALLY back down to the weight I was when we moved. I would like to lose about 15 more. 9 lbs in less than two months from counting calories, so I am pretty happy. Now all I need to do is buckle down again (I haven’t dropped anything in almost 2 weeks) and get it done. I probably will hit it hard after this weekend. I will have three weeks before I start my marathon training. Trying to remember the big picture here.

I am super excited for my SIL, she is running her first half in two weeks. I really wish we could be there to cheer her on. Wasn’t your first the best? Oddly enough my first half is still my PR. Good luck Ginny, I know you are going to rock it!

I will not wait a month again before posting. Hopefully next week will be full of happy news!!!
