Skating, training and sickies..........

Fell off of the blogging wagon AGAIN. As you can see, I would much rather read blogs than post. I have been doing a lot of stalking lately, making blogging quite hard. And I missed the last weigh-in, still zero. I am awesome at maintaining weight! I started a half marathon training program knowing that I want to run another race. At last I found a RaCe and a BUDDY! Yahoo, I am super excited to run a 12k with my sister in law. Did I tell you we are running across the Golden Gate Bridge? Signing up this week to secure our spots. My sister (who wants to run a half)  has a lot going on this spring/summer so we are going to move our half to fall. Dare I finish the year with a FULL MARATHON? How awesome would that be?   Hmm, we shall see, my body probably wouldn't protest so much if I dropped a few L.B.s. It's on the list too. Mostly because if I say when I reach my goal weight one more time I might puke.

I was home with this today.........
Do you like the sick face? Is it sad that my first thought after taking his temp was 'now I don't have to get dressed today'? At least my second thought was 'poor thing'. So I had to change up the order of my workout. I decided to run on the tm instead of the strength training I was planning. My view.....
Got to love spider-man cartoons. In even more important news, do you notice my tm has a new home? Thank you D.H. for putting inside.
Did you notice the backwards door? Not sure why it is like that.
I helped, I took pictures and directed him. Though this is not where I planned on it going, this is where he put it.

I really should have cleaned up before the picture. Sorry I have a sick kid, this equals no cleaning.

Since this is an exercise and what not blog, I will leave you with this....
Roller skating is exercise, right? I totally rocked the chicken dance too.  Being the expert stalker that I am I have decided that my blog stinks (the layout and stuff) so I suppose I am going to work on it a little. At some point. And every other blog that I read asks a question (or 5) at the end, here it is. If you read this blog, you have to answer my ?

Okay, can't come up with a good question, I'll have a good one next time.

Zero and a snowy run.....

Well I lost a whole lot of nothing this week. Since I ate enough for a family on my birthday I guess it could be worse. So feeling all sorry for myself (best feeling ever, right?) ALL I wanted was to go out to lunch. I figured since I had to shower this a.m. to help in Marissa’s class( I can’t believe she is half way through 5th grade!) I would make D.H. take me out to lunch. Unfortunately when I was finished in her class it was not lunch time. So I went home for a while. At home I realized even though I thought this was a rest day on my new plan, it might not be. And it isn’t, it’s a 3 mile day (so is tomorrow). I really wasn’t in the mood for the TM though I do generally like it. Too bad we FINALLY got the snow we have been waiting for. It snowed all night and blew/snowed all morning (Still.Snowing). What’s a girl to do? Pick myself up off the floor, put some warm clothes on and head outside. That’s right, three miles in the freezing snowy windy cold. It was awesome, no music just me and a lot of snow. Not many people on the road. I did get stopped by the train that was moving oh so slow but other than that AND stepping in a drift it was good (and SLOW). Like a 13 minute mile, I even wore my trail shoes not my running shoes. Thus keeping me up right the ENTIRE run. Here I am after (I am not a wear make up and workout kind of girl, but I had actually showered this a.m. so excuse the black smudges)

Training Day 1

I got home from a 2.5 mile hike/walk this morning with nothing better to do so I figured I would start my training. 1st run = 3 miles (I actually went 3.26). After mapping out a route AHEAD of time (see I am learning) I was on my way. Mostly I just went because I was dressed in all of my new duds, wish I had taken a picture. I timed it so when I got back it would be lunchtime (you can eat lunch at 11, right?). Here is how the run went...

First two blocks- I got this, I'm a rockstar.
1/2 mile- How do people run in the cold without fogging up their sunglasses?
1/2-1 mile- Glasses off, face mask on (it was only 20 degrees, hard.to.breathe)
1 mile in- Screw this, I am too awesome to not wear glasses. Mask off, glasses on. (really I couldn't sing with the stupid mask on, who needs to breathe anyways)
The rest of the run went like this.... I am freezing, can't breathe, who put this song on my ipod, and darn hills. REPEAT!
All and all it wasn't too bad of a run. I cannot wait for my tights to get here. I wore two layers and was still a little chilly on the bottom. Everything else rocked! (I wore my ski socks, I guess I should invest in some better running socks) 11:40 mile, WOW I need help on that. So nearly six miles in a day, not too shabby. Maybe I will get a little crazy later and hit the TM for some intervals (the only way I can figure out how to do them)

PS- Lunch was awesome, I have to admit I am a little tired, that is good right? Still wishing you could see my rocking look (I actually matched for once).

31k

I did it, well actually I went 32k but who's counting right? This is probably the first thing I have EVER finished, though I had planed on running it entirely but that changed when I overworked my knee. So a lot of hiking it was, the weather is unusually warm so it has been nice. On to more important things, my birthday loot.

I ate WAY too much on my birthday. I friend took me to my favorite local restaurant for lunch and D.H. took my to one of my other favs AND asked them to make my favorite dish there. Pulled pork, it was awesome. Here is my fun new stuff...

The kids made me some rad origami and duck tape items. Yes that is a duck tape wallet, jealous?
D.H. got me....

A new running top, running gloves, 30 day shred (don't worry I ask for the gear) and this awesome bracelet that says: "I figure if a girl wants to be a legend, she should just go ahead and be on" Calamity Jane.

Plus the promise of these as soon as they are released....

D.H. also purchased another year of amazon prime (most excited about this) I also received money and a 50 dollar gift card to Amazon where I bought this and ordered running tights. I am even more excited that I STILL have some to spend.....
I wasn't really sure what I was going to do this winter since it has been years since we lived in this type of climate. I found this super awesome blog hungryrunnergirl and hijacked her winter wear. She is a huge runner so I figure she probably knows what to wear.

I found a running plan online that I am going to try out in hopes of NOT injuring myself. Here's to hoping......
