Perspective. This is what I got on my run today. An old friend has been in and out of the hospital for the last few months with surgeries and numerous health issues. I read on FB that she is back in PHX in the hospital again. She has been in my thoughts and prayers. As I set out this morning I couldn’t get her out of my mind. Was it cold out? Yes. Am I really out of shape? Yes. Am I lucky to be where I am at this moment? Yes. All of that seems so trivial when someone you know is fighting. Fighting for all sorts of different reasons. So this morning out on my run I gained a little perspective. How far I went isn’t important. Did I reach my minimum of a mile? Yes I did, the rest isn’t important. What a journey the next 360 days are going to be…….
Awe, I REALLY liked this one!!! It's very well-written, too!! :)
ReplyDeletethanks Åmanda we really need to hang out more. It is amazing how life has a way of smacking you upside the head sometimes to remind you of what really is important. I am just happy to be alive and get to see my kids smiling faces everyday. It is amazing what we take for granted. It was great seeing you today.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are doing better and on the road to recovery Peggy. Would love to get together soon.
